Ola S1Z Electric Scooter Launched

Ola Electric has introduced its new S1Z electric scooter range in India, targeting buyers looking for a more affordable electric two-wheeler.

The new scooter is available in two battery variants, with the introductory ex-showroom price starting at ₹79,999. Ola says the S1Z is among its first mass-market scooters to use its India-developed Bharat Cell LFP battery technology.

Ola S1Z Price in India

The S1Z is available in two versions:

  • S1Z 3.1 kWh: ₹79,999
  • S1Z 5.1 kWh: ₹99,999

Both prices are ex-showroom. Customers can reserve the scooter for ₹999 through Ola Electric's official website.

The final on-road price will depend on factors such as registration, insurance and applicable charges in each state.

Up to 301 km Claimed Range

Range is one of the biggest talking points of the new S1Z.

The 3.1 kWh version has a claimed IDC range of up to 179 km, while the larger 5.1 kWh version claims up to 301 km on a single charge.

Both variants have a claimed top speed of 70 kmph and use a 4 kW peak-power motor. Real-world range can vary depending on riding style, speed, traffic and road conditions.

Battery Technology

The S1Z uses Ola Electric's LFP battery cells, which the company says are developed and manufactured in India.

The use of locally developed battery technology is an important part of Ola's strategy as it attempts to bring electric scooters into a more affordable segment.

Colours and Features

The new Ola S1Z will be available in four colours:

  • White
  • Anthracite
  • Sky Splash Blue
  • Matcha Green

The scooter gets 12-inch wheels and features including GPS tracking, cruise control, regenerative braking, reverse mode and over-the-air software updates.

It can also connect with the Ola Electric app, while the Easy Park feature is designed to make manoeuvring the scooter easier in tight spaces.

When Will Ola S1Z Deliveries Start?

Buyers will have to wait a little while for deliveries.

Ola Electric says deliveries of the 3.1 kWh S1Z will begin in December 2026, while deliveries of the 5.1 kWh model are scheduled to start in March 2027.

Is the Ola S1Z Worth Watching?

With a starting price below ₹80,000, a claimed range of up to 301 km and locally developed LFP battery technology, the S1Z could become an interesting option in India's growing electric scooter market.

However, buyers should remember that the advertised range is a laboratory-tested IDC figure and actual range may be lower in everyday riding conditions.
